The twinning charter was signed in 1989

The village of Roeze is situated 6 miles (9KM) south west of Le Mans, on the river Sarthe. Although close to Le Mans the village is surrounded by open country with many small farms and private houses. La Suze is a small town adjoining Roeze, having the the benefit of an industrial zone, supermarkets, and a variety of shops.

Farmers in the district produce milk that is packaged for resale (unpasteurised) and Poulet Loue (naturally fed chicken that is traditional in the Sarthe.
