Saxilby is twinned with Haarlemmerliede in Spaarnwoulde Holland.

The twinning charter was signed on 19 May 1989 in Halfweg and at Saxilby on 23 September 1989.

The Municipality of Haarlemmerliede en Spaamwould which lies just to the East of Amsterdam, consists of four villages and one Hamlet; Halfweg with a population of 1900. The town hall is in Hallweg. The area' main features are agriculture and dairy farming with some light manufacturing.
