Louth and La Ferte Bernard have been associated with each other as Twin Towns since 1981, and informally for longer still.

Louth is situated in the North East corner of Lincolnshire, in the Lincolnshire Wolds and La Ferte Bernard in the Sarthe region of France.

Louth is about 36 km from Lincoln, to the East and La Ferte Bernard about 45 km North West of Le Mans.

Both towns are roughly the same size at about 15,000 population and both situated in similar rural settings.
