Sezanne Twinning began in 1958 between Holbeach and Mondement, a small village some 8 miles from Sezanne. Sezanne is a small town on the edge of the champagne region and comparable in size to Holbeach.

Following local government reorganisation in 1974 the Twinning was extended to include the whole of the South Holland area. The Friends of Sezanne are fully responsible for organising the visits to France and in the South Holland area when the French friends come to visit.
