Caistor
is twinned with Savigne L Eveque Sarthe France; there is a membership
of 40 families in the twinning association.
Savigne
l' Eveque, with a population of 3,500 lies 8 miles North East of The
City of Le Mans. The town is small but forward looking and the present Mayor- also a keen twinner is working on projects to restore its natural heritage. The Wash houses along the river are one such example, as is the restoration of local walls. There is now a small area that has been named "Caistor square, to which the Caistor Twinning Association has contributed various gifts. The town has excellent sports facilities and its recent addition of the Salle de Michael Berger a lovely modern, all purpose auditorium has greatly contributed to social occasions. |
