BourneTwinning
Association signed its charter with Doudville Normandy France in October
1989.
The forerunner
of the twinning was a school exchange between Bourne's Robert Manning
School and a School in Doudeville. Bourne is situated in the South of the county of Lincolnshire. Lincolnshire is the second largest and most sparsely populated county in England and is situated on the east coast between the Humber estuary and the Wash. Doudeville
is a small town in Normandy, 44 Km from Rouen and 35 Km from Dieppe.
It has a population of 2,500. There has been a settlement in the area
from Roman times.
